  As we begin the 2010 NCCSR sailing season we have numerous updates that are of interest. The brief notes below are some, but not all, of the good things happening at the center. 

 1-We have hired a full time Waterfront Director to work with our returning Center Director, Garth Pearce.   Welcome to Will Pashal who began in mid-February.  We are pleased to have Will on our team; he'll be a great asset to the overall center operations and especially to the scholastic instruction team. 

 2- We've had an active winter with our Flying  Scot fleet getting boat and sail covers made. Thanks to all the volunteers & Rick Berkey!  This will keep them cleaner and in better operating shape.

  3- We are working on our class curriculum for 2010, and will be adding Sunfish to our adult Learn to  Sail class summer schedule.  We are also teaming up with various schools and the local YMCA's to make our summer schedule a busy and successful program.   

  4- We have executed a good powerboat maintenance  program with a new solid floor on our center console boat and the Yahoo getting an engine tune up and choke assembly fix.

  5- We have a number of keelboats that are For Sale from our donation program. All at great values, from a 24 footer up to a nice Hunter 27.  If you know a buyer, contact us today !

NCCSR's 2010 rowing season kicks off the week of March 15th! Today we moved our shells to the Lake Norman YMCA location. We also took delivery of a Vespoli 4+ with four oars, which we purchased from the Catawba Yacht Club. Our Scholastic Rowing program (ages 12 and up) begins a four day per week practice schedule st...arting Monday March 15 from 4:15 to 6:45. Adults are on the water Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings We will expand our practice schedule for adults, adding Thursday evenings and Sundays, as the season progresses.
